Metrics at a Glance

In order to measure the University’s progress on implementing the strategic plan, Educate Connect Elevate: Illinois State, a series of high-level metrics have been identified. The key indicators represent four main areas – Access and Affordability, Student Success, Faculty and Staff Outcomes, and Institutional Resources - and demonstrate measurement of the strategic directions, objectives, and actions throughout the plan.

Access and Affordability

    • Enrollment of undergraduate and graduate students
    • Enrollment of first time in college and transfer students
  • Affordability
    • Percent of full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking students who paid the in-state tuition rate and were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state, or local governments, or the institution
    • Average amount of grant or scholarship aid awarded to full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking students who paid the in-state tuition rate and were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state, or local governments, or the institution
    • Estimated net price of full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking students who paid the in-state tuition rate and were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state, or local governments, or the institution

  • First to second year retention rates of students
  • Average freshman credit completion ratio
  • Enriched Educational Experiences
    • Number of study abroad participants
    • Number of students participating in the Honors Program
  • Graduation rates
  • Career outcome
    • Median annual wage of Illinois State University graduates 10 years after graduation
